Helping people age well

I used a combination of improved nutrition, a beginner resistance training program, a lot of walking and the 1st Phorm App to lose 43 pounds in five months. I also had incredible support from my wife, Judy
My eating program focused on consuming one gram of protein for every pound of my goal weight. Since I want to eventually weigh 190 pounds, I had a daily goal of 190 grams of protein a day. I also had a calorie limit of around 2000 calories a day
Lunch and dinner were 4-6 oz portions of a protein - usually chicken or beef with a vegetable. Breakfast was low-fat cottage cheese or greek yogurt. I had eggs about once a week.
I hit my protein goals with protein shakes and/or protein bars through out the day.
I also snacked on dill pickles occasionally.
IMPORTANT: I weighed my food. I especially weighed the salad dressings I put on lettuce, spinach or veggies. There's a big difference between what I thought was two tablespoons vs what the food scale told me!
The 1st Phorm app guides you to be the best version of you and it certainly helped me. Because it established macro goals for Protein, Carbs and Fats, I used it to track ALL the food I ate. Because protein is key, I worked hard to hit my daily protein goal yet stay in a caloric deficit. This is how I lost weight while gaining muscle

I walked - a lot. Minimum of 10,000 steps a day. Rain or shine. And... Judy and I walked a lot. It was nice to spend together while getting our steps in!
Recently, I have carried 30 pounds in a backpack in order to keep my heart rate elevated during my walks. I think it's ironic I had to add back weight that I lost in order to have a challenging cardio workout!
As I mentioned before, the app recommended a beginning resistance training program which I was able to do with adjustable dumbbells acquired from Craiglist and a weight bench from Amazon. It was very rewarding to experience significant strength gains and to actually have pecs, biceps, triceps and, now that my gut is gone, abs!
No, 1st Phorm is not a MLM! However, full disclosure, I am now an affiliate marketer so I could get small commissions from the purchase of 1st Phorm products.
I'm not in it for the money. At this point in my life, I want to share whatever wisdom/guidance I can to those who can benefit from it!
It would be a pleasure to help you reach your goals.
